Australia?
Are the Omanis so lost they would go to Australia to get military expertise?
What on Earth could the Australians possibly have to add to the MTC?
For that matter, can anyone name me 30 successful Australian military successes?

Well, as a former Aussie soldier, I can assure you that, if you actually took the time to do a little research on the topic, you would discover that Australia has an extremely impressive military history, especially for a country of its size. Below is a Wikipedia article to get you started and I'm sure you will find the desired "30 Australian military successes" (and then some) to answer your query:

For crying out loud, why don't the Omanis just get over that obsession they have for all things related to those people who speak the language strangely and just hire instructors from a country with the strongest and best military the world has ever seen: America?
Then they might just learn something.
Australia!!? |
Is this serious? I can only assume that you must be joking. The Omanis have quite an efficient military mainly set up and trained by the Brits. The US military is out on Masirah, but have had little to do with training of Omanis. It makes much more sense for the Omanis to turn to the Aussies than to the US.
Based on our record of training the torturers in South America and the total mess we've made in Iraq... better that we stay home.

Since 2005 the US has played a significant role in training Omani military personnel. As part of The Royal Air Force of Oman F-16 project, several hundred Omani aircraft technicians were sent to the USA for training. Lockheed Martin, who manufacture the F-16, sent some of their instructors to RAFO Thumrait to provide on-the-job training for the technicians after their return. RAFO now operates two squadrons of F-16s. |

" The Omanis have quite an efficient military mainly set up and trained by the Brits."
Would you base the above statement on the number of engagements they have successfully been a part of or are you using another method to judge them on as a military force? |
