Thank you bigbang for your response.
I appreciate that it would be easier to speak after having listened to something but surely there is opportunity for higher order thinking (paraphrasing/summarising) to write on the 'fly'. It has worked for me in dictation drills, note taking classes. Or formulate spoken responses to a text. Ofcourse this would be for higher level students.
Traditionally you'd have listening and speaking, reading and writing. How is this pairing also not opposite in direction and method? I can see it as being much easier to teach this way though. the sthdent would have a target model as a reference point. |
