Hi everyone.
I've been offered a job (verbally) in the UAE, but have been told that they can't offer me an official position in writing until I pass some national security check that will take around two months. Is that normal? Two months seems like a long time to wait around while other jobs pass on by.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
- Jesse |

Everyone has to take the check and a month or two is the norm. Unless you have some legal issues in your background, most pass it. That said, I would keep applying to other jobs. Best to not have all your eggs in the same basket.

Depends where you are from, most Western passport holders can have the check done in days. However, other nationals can take 30 to 90 days. If you hold an Egyptian, Algerian, Tunisian, Lebanon, Syrian, etc passports good luck because many get turned down for "security reasons". |
