This thread has been hijacked by a discussion on hijacking threads, is that irony? Seriously, I don't get irony - hey, let's talk about that here and now...

My concern is for the OP and glad to report via our numerous PMs (yeah I think he got sick of the diversion too), that he is zeroing in on a job that meets his/spouse's/children's needs.
Oh yeah and has bought a book online (Amazon) that records the Oral English newbie experience in China.
'Cos that's what he is - not a multi-year international school teacher.

Thanks for the tips hdeth, NS, OBPWAT, and others. We are still doing our due diligence on a number of places.
My wife and I are pretty good at being apart from each other. I am usually away 15 days at a time (though I am home for 6 in a row!).
I like the pace of the Universities but I like the pay of the private sector. Ultimately we may just have one of us work and call it good.
The kids are homeschooled right now and we will likely continue to do most of the heavy lifting in that area. We would like them to interact with the Chinese kids too but full immersion is too much.

Nottingham Ningbo offers about 350,000 per year plus housing and other benefits. This is much higher than the highest paid jobs discussed on this thread.

350,000 a year after tax? How much is the accommodation allowance? Where do they advertise? Thanks!

I would not accept anything lower than 25,000 + housing allowance.

Errr, no it's not. Either you are trolling or you need to review your maths. RiverMystic said his current package is 30,000 / month + housing etc etc. And his previous job in HK was the equivalent of 70,000 / month.
