Does this look right?

Base Salary annually: 7.5 mil yen

Deduction annually:
Heath insurance - 370,000
Welfare -650,000
Employment Hoken- 37000
Income tax -300,000
Total deduction annually = 1,357,000

Income after deduction would be something = 6mil yen

few concerns:

1. How is this income tax calculated? I thought is only 20% of the total taxable income. So should be 6mil yen *.2 = 120,000 income tax annually no?

2.Health insurance seems quite high (370,000 annually), is this normal?

3. Total Resident tax is roughly about 330,000, does that look right for this income?

Deductions are 18%. Seems fine to me.
The salary is good. I have never made that much.

At the bottom is a basic chart: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2206.html (which says 23% plus 962,500, that's just national)

Health insurance cost is based on salary--you make less, you pay less; you make more, you pay more. 370,000/yr is about 30,000/month, which looks cheap to me (I would have guessed that it would have been more). Keep in mind that this is just the salaried person's contribution--the company/school is matching that, i.e., paying the other half.

If you really want the full tax rundown (a couple years old, but you get the idea): http://www.nta.go.jp/tetsuzuki/shinkoku/shotoku/tebiki2013/pdf/43.pdf
