| I have lived in Jubail, Khobar, Riyadh and Jeddah and my favorite was Jeddah. It had a more international feel, is more humid which I like and the beaches along the red sea are beautiful! |

Lots of monkeys and a couple of Al Baiks.
On weekends, take the bus to Jeddah |

The east coast is much better than the west coast as you can go to other countries on weekends.
Bahrain and AD and even Doha are nice to visit. |

Me too, but only from students who lived there. To me it was a horrible dusty place with aggressive drivers blasting their horns as I drove along slowly looking for the escape route. |
Khobar is highly over-rated, and in years to come will pale in comparison with Jubail (unless the low price of oil or daesh gets the RCJ fist)
I liked it, clean streets, good pavements, a nice seafront, orderly driving, proximity to Bahrain. What more do you need! |

Great social life in Riyadh, and a good expat scene |

Can only presume you never drove in Riyadh, if you found driving in Dammam problematic! |

Only twice, and I planned my route into the DQ, from there directly to the hotel, and back out of the city in advance. |

I'd say driving in Riyadh in frenetic, driving around the coastal areas is unsympathetic, and driving in rural towns is hectic.
|

Ha'il is not bad. Bigger than I imagined. When I visited there was one shopping mall and a couple of supermarkets. Dry and dusty.
