What do you use to job hunt if you're outside Japan?

I'm trying to get an esl gig and return to Japan after 5 years there previously. I have N2 and want to get out of esl as fast as possible. But it seems all the good jobs want you to have a working visa already.

What sites do you use beside gaijinpot to hunt for jobs. Every time I apply for a job there I get an email saying 30 or 50 something applicants have applied for the same job.

It's a little bleak.

Are there any other decent resources out there?

If you have N2, why aren't you searching regular Japanese job listings?

Honestly, I'm super rusty and my reading has gone down the tubes since I've been out of the country for 2 years. I don't think I have the capability to get through any sort of interview test.

I guess it couldn't hurt to try.

The best way into Japan is to go with one of the big chain schools.. Hardly anyone will provide you with a work visa outside Japan other than than one of the biggies like AEON, Nova, GEOS, Berlitz and Westgate, etc. I would veer towards Westgate because you only work for 3 months and they give you a one-year work visa. They only need you for one university semester.. I did my three months and then went and found work with better employers. I was working for universities directly within the year.

You're seeking an ESL job yet state that you want to get out of ESL as fast as possible. Confused

The reason being, most of the jobs I want require a current working visa. They don't want to fork out a brand new sparkling visa.

Westgate sounds like a good bet for you.

Yes, she wants a TEFL job but intends to get out of TEFL, however she is looking for a place to search for non-TEFL jobs that don't require her to read Japanese.

Hope that makes sense.
