Has anyone applied for this from the UK?
Can you use Disclosure Scotland?
Thanks. |

It is easier if you have a UK address to send the document to. |
Sorry, I mean is the Disclosure Scotland version accepted by the Saudi embassy as part of the work visa application or does it have to be via the ARCO website? |

Ask. Maybe they do not know. You could ask Disclosure Scotland but they will refer it to London. I blame the sods who voted "No" in our referendum ! |

According to the agent they originally did accept Disclosure Scotland but now they don't.
Amazing. |

Which visa agency did you go for in the end? |

This advice was from Gulf and Britannia.
I have yet to commit. |

I spent 17 years in Saudi. I am not sure that I would go there now.

Hi Nick,
Any update on your Saudi visa application. Did you submit the ACRO certificate in the end? |

Yes I did. As of a few weeks ago the only acceptable CBR check for Saudi is the ACRO and it has to have been sent to Milton Keynes like the South Korea CBR check process.
The ARCO has an express service for only 80 quid and it takes approximately 48 hours. |

It's worth mentioning for people who've been abroad for a long time, that in order to make an application you need to be able to prove a UK address in two different ways |

Is this problematic for people who have been working for periods outside the UK. what do people do about long spells of residence abroad ? How do you prove you have no criminal record in other countries ?
Life is getting so complicated. I blame Bush and the Illuminati. |

It could be a problem depending on your circumstances. My current employer stated that they would only accept a police check from Saudi Arabia, if I had been working there for seven years continuously. Company policy.
As far as the ACRO thing goes, you do have to provide proof of an address in the UK. You can do this in a variety of ways. Most of which relate to utility bills or some form of payment.
However, you can use a bank statement, so worth keeping the UK account.
And a letter from your GP. I'm not sure if you ever go off the books for not using your GP, but something to think about.I used mine and it was fine. |

Keep an address in the UK and keep registered with the NHS. Good advice. |
