I wonder if anyone can recommend decent short-term accomodation anywhere in the area roughly from Central to Kennedy Town or in-between. By short term I mean anything from a night or two up to a week or more. Not bottom-end prices but not high end either! Tks |

Airbnb might work, but friend is looking for something more like a regular hotel for occasional one/two night stays on HK Island - a place he can return to and which would normally have availability, rather than booking a different place every time. |

Try sites like Trip Advisor, Asia Rooms, and booking.com |

Thanks. Call me lazy - but I was hoping for a recommendation! For instance, in TST I highly recommend the Salisbury YMCA - great location, great value by HK standards. But a bit pricey for what my friend is looking for - and the wrong side of the harbour. |

Which is why he should be researching places himself since no one here knows his budget, personal tastes, desired amenities, travel dates, etc. |

Why not have your "friend" ask questions in the forum? That would make a lot more sense than trying to help a third party who possesses limited knowledge.
Think about it. |

Huh? No crankiness or any other emotion on my part --- just common sense. Your friend can use those travel sites to quickly find a place that ticks all his boxes versus days of hit-n-miss guessing from a few people on this forum who know zip about his budget, time frames, and personal preferences. |

I stayed in a studio in Causeway Bay when I first arrived called Metro Metro.
Serviced apartments/studios at 13k a month. They let you add on a week or so at a time (having been there for a month already) so worth contacting to see if they can do it off the bat. |
