I want to be better at teaching reading to adult ESL students. Are there any good books anyone can recommend. I've tried finding one but so far no success. Any recommendations? |

One of my go-to books was "Zero Prep Ready-to-Go Activities for the Language Classroom," which has activities relevant for each language skill. Also check out the umpteen ESL sites that include reading lessons and standalone activities, like breakingnewsenglish.com. Start with a Net search on reading activities esl book.

I'm in the process of ordering the Zero Prep book. Can anyone also suggest a great book for children's activities while learning English? |

One activity for young learners that often gets overlooked in activity manuals is the simple act of reading stories to them. Thats how we all got our first grounding in reading. Choose the right stories & the kids will clamor to hear them repeatedly. Intrigue them with the adventure of learning to read for themselves.
The old classics still work magic on kids from all cultures: Dr Seuss, Maurice Sendak, Curious George, etc. |

No, but I'll happily recommend a great activity: Readers Theater
Lots of fun for kids of all ages and abilities. Personally, I keep a copy of the script from Monty Python and The Holy Grail in my office so that my colleagues and I can do impromptu readers theater performances during coffee breaks on faculty in-service day. It also allows us to brush up on our British phonology . . .
. . . but I digress . . . |
