Reaction to my announcement has run the gamut from panic to disbelief.

Most of these guys eventually formally adopt KSA citizenship and relinquish their USA citizenship. Their ties to KSA are much more substantial whereas their ties to the USA was simply an accident of birth. Of course, a few will secretly keep both nationalities.....but again, they put themselves in possible legal jeopardy by doing so. Over time, most people simply are unable to put up with the strain this causes and opt out of one or the other nationality, usually keeping the father's citizenship.

.

Reliquishing US citizenship, not very smart on their part, although who would have known 8 years ago that the Saudi welfare system might collapse. The Saudis had little to lose unless their earnings were in the 80000 US range, and the military wouldn't want a Saudi anyway.

Dear scot47,

Admittedly satire - but not all THAT far from the truth:

"Further, when quizzed on when America declared independence from Great Britain to become a sovereign nation, more than two-thirds replied: “six thousand years ago, when God created humankind.”

I wonder if plumpy and Trump are included in the 73 percent of Americans who are unable to locate America on map of America! Laughing

John, a former colleague of mine thought that Noo England was a state. He was from California and was rather fond of recreational stupefactants, which might explain his confusion. Very Happy

In the "faq" found at the bottom of the page.

"What is Recoil?

Recoil is news and social satire like you’ve never seen before – unless you’ve seen The Onion. Recoil has been West Michigan’s favorite free monthly tabloid comedy and music magazine since 2001.

Why should Recoil be allowed to exist?

Recoil offers a humorous and provocative reflection of the state of modern society through the use of satire, in an effort to maintain awareness of our culture’s imperfections."

Instead of plumpynut or Trump, I wonder what would Uncle Bandar say?

Also:

"disclaimer: the parable of the snake

An old woman was walking down a road one day when she happened upon a group of men beating a poisonous snake with clubs. The woman intervened, saving the snake. She took the snake home and nursed it back to health. When the snake recovered, the woman carried the snake with her wherever she went, caressing it as if it were her child. One day, the snake bit her on the neck. As she lay dying, she asked the snake, “Why have you done this, after I have been so kind to you?”

“You knew I was a snake when you picked me up,” said the snake.

Recoil contains satire. If you do not understand the concept of satire, you should not read the satirical news stories that comprise a good part of Recoil, because you WILL BE OFFENDED by some of the subject matter.

Recoil is not intended for readers under 18 years of age."

Way to research, double-ought-some number between 6 & 8, whiskey-tango-foxtrot, gregory 999, etc, et. al.! I believe that the disclaimer speaks most clearly! Laughing
