Would I be able to travel in with a bag of hemp seed hearts? Obviously it's not considered a drug by any means in the West, but who knows what goes on in the minds of Saudi customs workers. |

I've actually held my ear up to a Sowdy ear. All I heard was wind whistling. |

It may occur to them to ask you what it is when they x-ray it. When you tell them hemp hearts, I wonder if they would know what hemp means? |

Do so at your own risk:
Quote: |
l) Banned Products
For religious reasons, Saudi Arabia bans imports of alcoholic beverages, live swine, pork, and foodstuff ingredients or additives that contain pork products, including pork fat, and gelatin. Other banned products include meat of asses, mules, hinnies (fresh chilled, or frozen), frog legs, poppy seeds, hemp seeds, opium and hops and swine leather.

Never been to Saudi, but, I'd have to concur with the two posters above. It doesn't seem to me to pass the whole 'risk-benefit analysis' by a long-shot! Besides, once you get into the KSA, I've heard that 'stuff', at least in the larger cities, is very readily available on the black market and very easy to obtain. I'm not advocating anything and, once again, I've never been there, but, that's what I've heard from several Saudi veterans. |

Dear gorkomi,
" . . . but who knows what goes on in the minds of Saudi customs workers."
Your question answers itself. No one can give you a "guarantee" that there won't be any problems for that very reason.
Better safe than sorry, I'd say.
Regards,

A little jar of nutmeg from Bahrain was my only ever deliberate smuggling offence, and I got away with it. |
