I am wondering if I should use a service or go directly to the FBI? Also, how long does it take?

What's your LOC?
Are you in the US or outside of the US?
Within the US it takes about 6 weeks.
Don't know about being outside of the US, but it can be done in certain locations overseas. |

Why would you need an FBI check? The only country which requires them in East or SE Asia is Korea.
Just get a local level police check emailed to within 2-3 days. |
