Do any Saudi employers hire English language instructors on short contracts? I think the most I could handle would be approximately 3 months or so.
I have GCC teaching experience and the necessary academic credentials so that's not an issue.
Thanks! |

no... but your expectations may well be.
Many employers actually use the first 90 days simply as probation, let alone for the entire length of the contract.
I'm not even going to go into the wisdom of why if you can only hack three months you would even bother coming here.
You do realise it can take many times that to actually get here from application, right?
Good luck with this one. |

Ditto that. Plus, companies are likely to hire someone already in country for a few months than to deal with the costs of bringing in short-term teachers from overseas (on a business/work visit visa). |

I know of one guy who worked in Dammam on a three month contract, probably on a business visa. I expect (but am open to corrections) a business visa is easier and quicker to get than an Iqama, but don't quote me on that! |

Probably not a scam, although there isn't much info on this forum about American Academy. Interestingly, the position is for an immediate start and is slated to run throughout Ramadan (June 6 - July 5) with an end date of July 31 with possible extension. It involves a biz visit visa. |

Likely a "summer session" teaching assignment at one of the local unis -
Couldn't get enough regular faculty to do the summer session. (But SAR 10 thou a month? Especially since it won't be tax free (US nationals) if you're in KSA only for the summer). |
