You're on the wrong site. Dave's is for English language teachers. And, no, a degree in piano performance + and ancient ctefla clearly doesn't make you an English language teachers, as even Berlitz Italy agrees!!

In any case, it's not Dave's posters you need to convince that your quals are somehow relevant, but employers. So I suggest you actually choose one of the countries from your long list and go there (and leave off wasting the time of forum members here).

Personally, I hope to GOD s/he gets a job in Sowdy!

The world requires less degree-holding piano performers and the Sowdies desire more after-Friday-noon-prayer entertainment. Laughing

It's in Piano performance (4 years full time). Again, the visa must have a qualification for the job applied for. Does this mean I can only get music teacher jobs in SA (with my PGCE as well) or can I get a work visa because I also have a TEFLA? The employer said the work visa would go on the TEFLA.

You won't get a music teaching job in Saudi Arabia. Remember Saudi Arabia is Wahabist, no music allowed in public, very very sinful. You're only option is English as a Second Language. You can get the work visa because you have a Bachelors degree presumably attestable by the SACM. The TEFL is required by the companies and universities.

The embassy told me in London that it's up to the employer if they accept my diploma (degree pass status). So, that means I should be able to get a proper work visa.

I have a graduate diploma and one employer in Saudi is happy to employ me or offer me a job.
....

The embassy in London said to get an employer to accept the degree/diploma. They said it's not up to them.
....

I therefore think I would be recognised in Saudi and UAE schools for music teaching positions
....

ps, There are job adverts asking specifically for PGCEs for Saudi and UAE schools and/or QTS and I have had QTS in the UK since 1996. Thanks again! PS I have a CELTA too (well it used to be called a cert TEFLA which is what I have)
....

I've just received an email from becon@mofa... (Saudi embassy in berlin) and they say " dear sir, that depends on your employer"

Can you read Nomad Soul? It says employer.

Hey, don't let me or anyone else on this forum stop you, dude. Besides, what do we know given that we're all bona fide BA and even some MA degree holders.

You seemingly have the "blessings" from a couple of Saudi embassies and a Saudi employer who's delighted to (legally) employ you. So go for it. Apply for a proper employment visa with your diploma in piano performance (and other now growing list of qualifications) so that the SACB in the UK can review your credentials.

Oh wait...

I don't know about paying upfront for a work visa in case it's declined.

So doe that mean I can get a work visa with an equivalent degree (as stated in the transcript)?
....

Anyway, just in case there is a problem with a work visa, the thread asks which companies are offering business visas? Anyone know any?

Not surprising, you brought up the same business visa issue on the China forum --- how you expect to work illegally.
Razz

It's your choice to pursue work with a diploma in countries that require a BA. Your decision alone, your risk.

Anyway, this is essentially a rerun of your posts in other threads the past few months. Other than your username, nothing's changed since then:
Did I miss any others? Confused

We can look forward to posts bemoaning the treatment received by this prolific timewaster from some dodgy employer in the Hejaz-Nejd.

Not yet, I just got it attested ready for any offers but the employer who was interested in me said they're waiting for last minute negotiations about the contracts. So I should be hearing from them soon unless I decide to go to China or get an offer from this employer I skyped with in Korea. They want a teaching video though so I'm busy preparing that.

Once the degree/diploma is attested does that mean you have passed for a work visa? I think I still have to get it legalised and stamped at the embassy. It costs money for a saudi visa. OUCH Laughing

Actually, most everyone does see the resemblance and that is why he's getting little joy here Wink
