Having worked for QEHC on behalf of KING KHALID UNIVERSITY for academic year 2015/2016 here is a brief synopsis of the last month as an employee
(visa manager/recruitment) (MOD edit) told me I would be refunded for my visa processing fee when I started work for the full $1000. I have been waiting for 9 months now and no sign of this promise coming true
Last month he advised me to book my flight home which I did
Fast forward to now, I fly out the country tonight and am still waiting for my final exit visa, my visa processing refund, holiday pay and end of year benefits. This totals close to $5000
I fly tonight and have been told I will not receive any of what I am owed
If I want to challenge this I have been told to cancel my flight and book another one at a later date. This would mean loosing $700 flight as I have already checked in and $700-1000 on a new flight. (MOD edit)now says it's my fault for booking a flight too early and should have waited - despite him telling me to book a flight >
As of tomorrow my accommodation is no longer available thus rendering me homeless
DO NOT WORK FOR QEHC they are a fraudulent criminal organisation and (MOD edit) owes me $5000 which I am unlikely to ever receive
I am now at the airport trying to arrange my final exit visa

It's good that you and others explain to Dave's readers what these Arabs do to people that trust them, coming over to work in Saudi Arabia, but you have no resources to challenge QEHC. You will spend money and accomplish nothing. Saudi Arabian Labor is a fraud. I have experience with trying to go to Saudi sharia courts. You have to take what they give you. These companies are notorious for offering then stiffing teachers and actually I have seen much worse than what is happening to you. I am surprised that they are not providing you with an exit visa especially since it's in their best interests to get you done and gone with and out of the country. |

I worked for large American defense contractor. When they were "Saudi-ized", they were owed hundreds of millions of dollars. They had to maintain an expensive office in Jeddah while they tried to get their money. After seven years of "Bukhara, Insha Allah", they stopped supplying spare parts and the whole project came to a grinding halt. They finally got paid.
An individual has little hope of getting overdue payments.

These kinds of stories have been part and parcel on Dave's for the better part of a decade.
It seems as if EVERY YEAR a new batch of Sowdy newbies enter the foray, apparently, thinking that they are immune from what JUST happened to the previous-year's victims.
Not unlike 2buckets, I quickly sussed out that ONLY working for a defence contractor would guarantee that Sowdy employers would be held to Western-like standards.
Long story short: In my 10 years, I ALWAYS got what was coming to me.
To the OP and others of his ilk, I have only to say what I tell my current Sowdy students back here in "the world":
There are only so many trips that can be made to the pity well. After a while, the well runs dry.
It's a tough world out there, man. It only gets tougher. |
