I promise Michael Moore will not be mentioned in this post.
So as a grandfather I nominate ESL GURU...He has some enemies but I thought he was a legend.
Who else. ???... China Syndrome and Sunaru. Jen 2003 MyTurnNow and Cobra. WoxfromOz.
OK this is sort of China specific but that is where I am--any suggestions from the general forum., ?..Like the Rock and Roll hall of fame keep it to the retired. Then again people dont retire anymore do they? They fade away. Well put Gurus Hells Angel Riding Into The Sunset above like the Mao portrait at Tiannamen. Can you do better?

The China posters are the most insane and flamboyant, mostly because they live in China, where you have to be a little nuts. Therefor their posts are the most interesting, kinda like how Van Gogh's and Dali's paintings are the most interesting. They were the most insane. |

Seth, does the head of the boy in your avatar ever fall off?
I watched for a couple of hours, but then when for a pint at the local. But I am constantly afraid I will miss it if it happens. Please let me know and put me out of my anxious wait. |

The Guru was rather entertaining. As well, I found that much of what he said regarding doing time in China had merit. Some of those who came after and whom I suspected were just later incarnations of him often gave misleading information which could do harm to the unsuspecting.
Roger is a shoe-in for eventual induction. I especially like his posts after he's found a good year of wine at his local market. The man does offer some excellent insights. And offers up an exceptionally witty line or two. "Hats off to ya, Rog."
And one who definitely must be included is Kvido Benak (excuse me if I spelled it wrongly) who added some fire to the debate and was one of the first I know of who got himself burned out of existence. Those were the days on the old board. He wasn't even in China. Whatever happened to him?
I also like Stephen Jones. He has answered some of my grammar questions and got me hooked on Netscape 7.1. It's soooo much better than that other one. |

I'll vote Johnslat too.
He's always worth the time to read. He is balanced and informed, and he (although I don't know how) manages to hold himself above the fray.
Gee, I wish I could be more like Johnslat.
But I'll go with Seth for killer humor. |
