Glad I got out of that hot mess last year. Can anyone on the ground substantiate this?

I know one direct hire who has had her salary cut by 2500 riyals and another by 5100 riyals. 5100 riyals represents 30% of her salary.

I also heard that ICEAT lost the contract. Does anyone know if that is true? What about EDEX and SBC?

I can understand the salary cuts given the Saudi economic situation. However their idiotic, obstinate, and petty academic views and demands together with a lack of willingness to pay puts them in a situation where they have to bring in and run thru loads of teachers. The teachers of course are totally oblivious to what's in store for them. The information about their bad visa system along with their musical chairs method of retaining teachers will get out and no one will want to go there anymore and select other locations to make bad teaching wages.

Give it a rest, dude. Your whining and sour opinion of everything Saudi is beyond tiresome. Besides, this thread refers to salaries. Rolling Eyes

Plumpy's assessment is spot on. When I referred to PNU as a "hot mess" I was not just talking about salaries!

Someone does need to give it a rest but it ain't plumpy nut! Please, pasture yourself. It's your compulsive posting that's tiresome, not plumpy's.

Mohomy!

Can you go into detail about how PNU is a hot mess? I would appreciate it!

Recruitment will increasingly be from the East. And South Africa.

Just like call centres being moved for cheaper labour, the tefl industry in KSA is moving in a similar direction I suppose.

Don't knock call centers, my current (grossly underpaid) job is preparing Guatemalans to work in these. Give the 3rd World a chance to share the wealth!

Oh, VS, you narcissistic poser, you. My comment was meant as much for you as NS. With your 17 thousand posts that are simply variations of about 3 different themes, don't you think perhaps you should graze someplace else where people aren't so bored with your repetitive and condescending lecturing?

Another development in KSA and the Gulf will be that the perceived need to teach everyone English will vanish. It may occur to the locals that they can do what they have to do through the medium of Arabic !

Yes, you have been a sweet and ever helpful poster here answering the repetitive questions that come up... oh, wait... condescending posters like you wouldn't deign to answer them. Actually the number by my name represents only a proportion of my answers since it excludes my posts from '96 to '03 when this version of the board appeared.

You are too busy trying to be snarky as can be seen in most of your 100+ posts in the last couple years. And what I do with my free time is not your business. So just skip over my posts and don't bother your sensitive little self. I am not here to entertain or please you.

When many a "poser" were "piddlin' in their Pampers"... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Gawd! With the triple "lol"s I'm starting to feel like 007 or his dozen or so appellations!
