I've got a interview for Jeddah University coming up. As advised by a wise soul, I have started a new post for this.

how did your interview go?

the location on the map is quite isolated. do you know what kind of sports facilities they have? you can see a stadium on the map.

I know several guys there and they enjoy the north side of Jeddah. Not isolated.

Less red tape than KAU>

I am also in the running for a job at the University of Jeddah. Can anyone kindly bring me up to date with how things are there and if it's worth the effort of trying to get a job there.

PS I'm relatively new on this forum but have been teaching in the MENA region for years and years including a previous spell in Riyadh and in the UAE. So, I know the lay of the land a bit I think.

I didn't take the job due to the salary being fairly low in comparison to KSU offer. Hope you get better luck than me.

I´d advise paul.conlong to use a less conspicuous username if he is considering coming to the Gulf. He may disagree but what do the other Gulf veterans think?
