"96 Tears'...performed by a group called ?(Question Mark) and the Mysterions.Lead singer performed in a cape and sometimes a mask...
Anyone else out there have a favorite nomination for TESOL Song? Think I will go with the above:
"You're gonna cry,cry,cry,96 Tears...." |

Hello bnix:
Favorite TESOL song? I'd have to go with "On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson. And here it is, for those of you who forgot the words:
On the road again:
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again:
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again,
Like a band of gypsies, we go down the highway.
We're the best of friends,
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way,
And our way:
Is on the road again:
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
Instrumental Break.
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
OK, so I'm an optimist. Sue me!
Regards,
kENt |

'Maybe Tomorrow' - theme from 'The Littlest Hobo'
THERE'S A VOICE,
THAT KEEPS ON CALLING ME.
DOWN THE ROAD,
IS WHERE I'LL ALWAYS BE.
EVERY STOP I MAKE,
I'LL MAKE A NEW FRIEND.
CAN'T STAY FOR LONG, JUST TURN AROUND AND I'M GONE AGAIN.
MAYBE TOMORROW, I'LL WANNA SETTLE DOWN,
UNTIL TOMORROW, I'LL JUST KEEP MOVING ON
DOWN THIS ROAD, THAT NEVER SEEMS TO END,
WHERE NEW ADVENTURE, LIES JUST AROUND THE BEND
SO IF YOU WANNA JOIN ME FOR A WHILE,
JUST GRAB YOUR HAT, COME TRAVEL LIGHT,
THAT'S HOBO STYLE.
MAYBE TOMORROW, I'LL WANT TO SETTLE DOWN,
UNTIL TOMORROW, THE WHOLE WORLD IS MY HOME
SO IF YOU WANNA JOIN ME FOR A WHILE,
JUST GRAB YOUR HAT, COME TRAVEL LIGHT,
THAT'S HOBO STYLE.
MAYBE TOMORROW, I'LL WANT TO SETTLE DOWN,
UNTIL TOMORROW, I'LL JUST KEEP MOVING ON.
THERE'S A WORLD, THAT'S WAITING TO UNFOLD,
A BRAND NEW TALE, NO ONE HAS EVER TOLD,
WE'VE JOURNEY'D FAR BUT, YOU KNOW IT WON'T BE LONG,
WE'RE ALMOST THERE AND WE'VE PAID OUR FARE, WITH THE HOBO SONG.
MAYBE TOMORROW, I'LL WANT TO SETTLE DOWN,
UNTIL TOMORROW, I'LL JUST KEEP MOVING ON.
SO IF YOU WANNA JOIN ME FOR A WHILE,
JUST GRAB YOUR HAT, COME TRAVEL LIGHT,
THAT'S HOBO STYLE.
MAYBE TOMORROW I'LL FIND WHAT I CALL HOME,
UNTIL TOMORROW, YOU KNOW I'M FREE TO ROAM.

Dear keNt.
I'll go along with " On the Road Again ", but I like Canned Heat's version:
"Well, I'm so tired of crying,
But I'm out on the road again.
I'm on the road again.
Well, I'm so tired of crying,
But I'm out on the road again.
I'm on the road again.
I ain't got no woman
Just to call my special friend.
You know the first time I traveled hard
Out in the rain and snow -
In the rain and snow,
You know the first time I traveled hard
Out in the rain and snow -
In the rain and snow,
I didn't have no payroll,
Not even no place to go.
And my dear mother left me
When I was quite young -
When I was quite young.
And my dear mother left me
When I was quite young -
When I was quite young.
She said "Lord, have mercy
On my wicked son."
Take a hint from me, mama,
Please don't you cry no more -
Don't you cry no more.
Take a hint from me, mama,
Please don't you cry no more -
Don't you cry no more.
'Cause it's soon one morning
Down the road I'm going.
But I aint going down
That long old lonesome road
All by myself.
But I aint going down
That long old lonesome road
All by myself.
I can't carry you, Baby,
Gonna carry somebody else
Regards,
John |

Classic Ramones song:
Scratch that...a different one:
'Ramblin' man' by the Allman brothers.
"Lord I was born a ramblin' man
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can
When it's time for leavin' I hope you'll understand
That I was born a ramblin' man."
It's southern rock, so the letter 'g' has disappeared. |

Dear keNT,
And - for all teachers everywhere:
" We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave the kids alone
Hey teacher leave us kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
Pink Floyd

Hello johnslat:
Yep ... you're right.
Floyd is definitely cooler than Willie Nelson. In fact, in your honour, I'm playing Dark Side of the Moon at this very moment.
Peace,

Sorry gentlemen I can't type too much. How about this:
call the cops on the Breedloves
bring a bible and a rope
and a whole box of rebel
and a bar of soap
make a pile of trunk tires
and burn em all down
bring a dollar with you baby in the cold cold ground
through the alley back from hell .. AAAAAHHHHH EEEHHAAAA!! |

At the moment I have to vote for a song by the Smiths:
"Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want"
But then, I'm sort of unemployed. |
