Hi all,
I've recently come over to KSA to work at KSU, I've been here for 3 weeks now and I'm still waiting for my iqama.
Has anybody recently joined them and if so are you also waiting on your iqama?
How has your experience been so far? |

3 weeks is not a long wait for an iqama.
Off the top of my head, I think they have up to three months to process it.
Please keep in mind that these things can take longer at certain times of the year - namely, the beginning of the academic year when there are more iqamas to process, during ramadan, hajj and eid.
Don't sweat it until you reach the six week mark, then ask your HR rep. |

Wow!!! a whole 3 weeks. It's the middle of the summer holidays, and most institutions inc recruiting companies are running on skeleton staff. Be patient. BTW, back in 2012, we waited a whole year for ICEAT (Bandits) to provide us with an Iqama. |

By the way, paul.conlong:
In another thread, you stated that one of the main reasons you went with Al Hussan is because they provide flights for up to three dependents as well as health care, per your contract. The specific terms and conditions regarding airfare for family members should be addressed in the contract you signed upon arrival. If not, get written clarification on whether the company books the flights and pays the airlines directly, or if you're to pay for your family's airfare out of pocket with the expectation that Al Hussan will reimburse you at some point during your contracted employment with them. |

I wouldn't have asked if there wasn't a reason behind it, a teacher who started just a little over a week before myself has already been issued his iqama and his wait time was only short of 3 weeks.
@NS - Thanks for the tip, I have confirmed it with them and it is shown on the contract, Al Hussan have advised that I must bring the family over and then they will reimburse all expenses. I'm not overly concerned as they have already reimbursed by flight and visa costs.  |

| I'm with Al-Hussan, my Iqama came under two weeks, the day I got my Iqama I went and opened a bank account, got my drivers license and also started buying things I needed (sim card) etc. Without an Iqama, life in KSA is very difficult. |
