Hello all. I am a Canadian interested in teaching in China, but not sure what kind of offers I may or may not get and do not want to start investing time and effort in applying if my prospects are no good.

I hope all experts can review the following, and let me know the kind of offers I might get (school type, salary amount...etc)

Mid Eastern ethnicity. Did my schooling in Canada from grade 7 till University
Native fluency (no foreign accent)
Between 2-3 years ESL teaching experience (mostly adults) pre and post graduation in the MidEastern country I was born in.

Your chances might be good. The only thing I see as a hindrance is that you weren't born Canadian, though Canadian forum members may be able to lend better advice than I.

I know a Pakistani who was born in Australia. He has a great job teaching high school. His skin is dark, but because of his excellent speaking skills and his teaching/speaking skills he is doing fine.

Nobody cares about "Honors" classes. In the States, they're mostly BS unless you intend to study for an MA or MS.

Go ahead and apply. I see no problems whatsoever.

Given the current sensitivities to things ME I would include a couple of social setting pics in your profile. That is in addition to your regulation mugshot.
Show yourself in relaxed grouping of similar age males and females, including Caucasian.
Apart from that you are just like any non-standard job seeker. It may take to a bit longer to find something and it's getting late for the new school year. BUT otherwise I think it's just effort on your part.
Featured teachers on seriousteachers.com are often ME or subcontinent folk.

I would suggest that you look into investing in some IB training.
Being "just an English teacher" is limiting in terms of opportunities, salary, and career progression. IB qualifications will give you unlimited opportunities (not just in China) and can lead to much more solid career progression (lead teacher>co-coordinator>coordinator...)
