My landlady would not accept that the fridge and washing machine were on their last legs, and will not offer to have them repaired or replaced.
Even went so far as to ask me to move out ASAP.
She went from gentle to dragon for no apparent reason.
So I'm back to looking for a place at 5k/m or less, near work. What a pain in the ass.

I've been quoted 2500-3500 per month to expect to pay in the suburbs (Fengxian) of Shanghai. Does this sound right?
All this talk of high rent for someone short of funds is a bit scary. |
