Hi,
I got an offer from an HE in Dubai.
Housing is 75k pa. I understand Dubai is expensive so people tend to rent in other places.
Any advice on this?

Also, when basic wage is mentioned per month, do they mean 12 months or 13/14? I am used to annual so I am finding it difficult to assess their offer.

Thanks
TS

Check out dubizzle for rents in Dubai. As for your salary, you really need to get clarification directly from the recruiter. (What's an "HE" by the way?)

HE is higher education.
I have checked dubizzle and rents are like open wallet surgery in Dubai.
I have read somewhere that expats tend to avoid living in dubai because of the high rents. Is it true?

You're not restricted to Dubai, if that's your concern.

Anywhere outside of Dubai is going to be pretty boring, though Abu Dhabi has a a little bit going on. The rest of the country isn't particularly developed; I just remember a lot of shopping malls and desert. Maybe it works for those who can find an outdoor activity and watch movies.

If you work in Dubai and live elsewhere, plan to spend many hours commuting. The traffic is a total nightmare.
