But unfortunately your average chinese thinks different than the laws of Saudi Arabia. In China/Taiwan, they will see you paying for everything so it is very good indeed that it is a legal requirement in Saudi....not so in other parts of the world though, and that is not good. |

Should we be comparing working conditions in Saudi Arabia to the Workers' Paradise of the People Republic of China ? I would certainly have more faith in the Labour Code of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia than in the decisions of the Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee ! |

The OP works [illegally, must be?] for over 6 months and then asks if he/she's being ripped off?!!! In the one previous post this person was commenting on an interview with somewhat shady part-time employers....yeah, once again-illegal. How can somebody with no experience, freshly graduated, expect to even work in Saudi without being totally taken advantage of? |

There are no other benefits. |
Really? You mean, there's no bonus at the end of your contract and you aren't covered by a health insurance plan? What about vacation/time off benefits? None? Do they pay for flights BACK to your point of origin or is that also not included?
You've been asked about "housing" but you haven't replied. This is a biggie. If you are paying for your accommodation and you're paying that out of your SAR7000 salary, I wonder how much your take home pay really is.
You provide only the absolute minimum information about yourself. Without more specific details, it's hard to advise you. (Are you female? Are you a US native English speaker? Are you single? ) What kind of VISA did you enter the Kingdom under? Do you possess an IQAMA? Or work/visit Visa?
However, if you've answered NONE OF THE ABOVE to most of the questions I've posed, especially with regards to housing and health insurance, not only are you being ripped off financially, you could have placed yourself in jeopardy as far as your health and welfare are concerned.

You will get no disagreement from me on that point, good sir! There have been many, many cases where teachers have had to fight tooth and nail just to get their end of contract airfare money/air ticket back to home country in China. |

Even for a fresh graduate (I'm assuming you're in your 20's) this is quite low.
I'm 53 and was offered 11500SAR by Khaleej plus 2000 for accomm, but this was standard for people from their 30s.
I know Al jazeera Academy offered 9500-10000 in Baha for BA non-related but at least they added very average accommodation. |
