Is anyone else expecting to lose out on pay because of the decree requiring schools and colleges to close before Ramadan?

Given that these for-profit contracting companies make their money for each hour their teachers work, you may end up teaching during Ramadan (as "summer school"). Otherwise, expect your employer/sponsor to find ways to lessen their expenses (e.g., not paying full flights out of KSA). Just my two halalas' worth. |

Ultimately the paymaster for us is TVTC, a state body. I'm curious about this and other state educational institutions. I'm wondering if they are required to pay their staff through this period despite school and college closures. |

Which entity is indicated on your contract as your employer or sponsor? TVTC or QEHC? |

This is where you can see the difference between reasonable employers and exploitative contractors. A reputable employer would not mess you about like this. |

Apparently many employers are forcing their teachers to take unpaid leave because they're finishing early and there is no other work available. So they've been told to go on extended leave. Some days will be paid for as part of their annual vacation and Eid, but other days will be unpaid.
TVTC may be paying their contractors until June or maybe they are not. Either way, you should be paid for the whole duration. But we know how sneaky and cunning they are, so don't hold your breath. |

What a s surprise: QEHC screwing their teachers again. There were heaps of threads about them until they were mysteriously taken off. What is the deal with that? And more importantly, what is the deal with teachers accepting jobs and working for QEHC? |

There are still 42 threads (about and/or included in) that come up in a search and over half of them in the last 2 years. From my observation over the years it seems that threads usually disappear for a couple reasons... either they devolve into snotty remarks about individuals employed there - management and/or teachers... or devolve into disagreements between posters. Either way I suspect that if it involves too much supervision and editing, it disappears into the bin. A third reason is repetition... often we end up with 3 or 4 threads on the same topic, repeating the same information... or re-starting locked threads.
So there is a ton of negative information left here, and I too wonder why people accept jobs there... no other offers I guess.

I've seen threads disappear mainly when they go too inside baseball, as it were. Names being named, judgements being cast.
There was one thread about an old employer (that shall go nameless) that a particularly bitter employee had gone on a tirade/crusade about. These sorts of things get people, both the posters and the subjects thereof, into legal hot water, so not surprised about when those threads go away, however juicy. Also, from first-hand experience, I can say that reality rarely lines up well with the perspective of vitriolic posters.
Even so, QEHC has been throughly documented on this board as a less than stellar place to work and, thanks to that, I managed to happily say No Thank You (several times, in fact! Given how they like to "follow up") to their HR people. |

I remember some (in my opinion, fairly factual) QEHC threads that have since disappeared. I don't remember any mud slinging on the later threads.
Like Rusty, I get periodic emails from them. I know too many people who have worked for them to be willing to accept any of their offers. Especially when the salary seems to drop with each approach they make! |

Remember that there are posters in different time zones on both sides of the globe, and stuff can disappear before you ever see it. There is still tons of information on this gang... enough so that most should have been scared away.

My employer is not deducting pay and has already paid for home leave flights for the summer in full. We're getting the same pay regardless of the decree to end the term earlier. |

As I recall, you're a direct hire. This situation is likely more of an issue for those working for contracting companies. |
