I work for a bunch of gangsters so I decided to resign as another school has offered me a job. This means breaking contract.

Obviously the gangstas don't like this and are making life very difficult for me like not allowing a transfer to occur but requiring me to cancel my FEC and residence permit.

I would like to know if I can simply go at the end of term with a cancelled FEC and residence permit, exit ChIna to say Hong Kong, and submit new paperwork from my new employer there and apply for a new Z there. Will the visa place in HK want an exit letter from the school or what?

Any advice gratefully received.

Your visa was canceled as soon as you arrived in China. What you need to negotiate is a new FEC and a new residence permit with your new employer. If your FEC and your redidence permit hasn't expired yet, DON'T make any moves toward canceling them. The expiration date should coincide with the expiration date of your contract plus several days.

Perhaps someone else can advise you regarding leverage against your present employer.

Hey thanks Bud. My FEC has been cancelled. My school are working towards an end date of 30.06.17. SO they want to cancel my residence permit on 8th June which they say will give me 30 days to leave China. Don't understand any of it. They say they can then give me a release letter possibly earlier. Problem is that doesn't give the new school enough time to process the transfer so looks like I may need to leave and go to Hong Kong .....

Nightmare ---- never work for gangsters!
