I'm trying to get a new Unified Work Permit. I need a new stamp from Chinese Embassy in NY on my original passport that authenticates me. There's Visa Rite and MyChinaVisa.com who will handle everything for a fee, but they need my original passport. Anybody put their passport in an envelope and ship it from China to Visa agency in U.S. before? |

I would let your nearest embassy/consulate in China handle it for you. I've had passports sent from my home country before, but only through my consulate. If this is not viable, then make sure you find a reliable service to send your passport with! The last package I had posted to China did arrive, a whopping 5 weeks after I expected it to!
I'm sure others on here will know of an alternative way of doing this. GL! |

Use Fedex next day express. I would, just in case, insure it for the cost of getting a new passport if it is lost.
I sent my passport inside of China once, made sure to insure the package. Was sending it to my sister inlaw to redo a local residence in my wife's hometown. |

What kind of services in the Unified Work Permit process should I be expecting the US Embassy in China to perform? It seems above and beyond. Can you tell me a little more about what they did for you? Thanks so much. |

My question is, do you already have the Z visa in your passport?
My concern is that if you send your passport home to get a new visa while you are still in China, it may cause a problem that you have not actually entered China with your new visa. |

I can't understand why you are wanting to send your passport out of China.
If you are already in China with an active visa it is not possible to be issued a new one unless you are actually physically outside of China.
Your post is somewhat ambiguous so needs more explanation on your part to gain a satisfactory answer. However what is certain is that you cannot be issued any other kind of visa for China anywhere until you exit China on the current visa you have as the immigration system will simply not allow it. |
