NanJing XiaoZhuang University: Wondering if anyone knew anything about this university? I have an offer with them but I can't seem to find anything solid about them beyond their website. (a bit concerned by some of their contract terms, but I'll fix those... however, those concerns have made me wonder about the university itself, and it's campus situation)
I'd also like to know anything about "Nanjing science and technology university". I know they're pretty far out, but I'm less interested in shopping, bars, and socialising than I used to be. I don't mind it being far out. Just concerned with the university itself. |

I presume you are referring to NUIST (Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology). I remember reading some reviews online a while ago and the place has been mentioned here too. Generally, the census is that it's a pretty good place to work but they struggle to find teachers because of the remote location. There is a metro stop nearby though.
Xiaozhuang... I was offered a position there too two years ago I chose another, more established university instead. They seemed quite obscure, far from downtown and I just didn't get good vibes from the interviewer, although she was professional. |

Yup. Got the reviews/comments from here about the place, but most of those comments are from years ago.

The main campus is a bit out which while inconvenient isn't too bad. However, the accommodation there is pretty old/basic, so they "advise" teachers to rent closer to the second campus where they will be teaching. They're being rather vague about where the second campus is, but I'll keep pushing them.
I had two interviews with them and the manner of the interviewers (4) were fine. No big surprises or worries there. The contract has some odd requests, which I told them to remove. However, I would still like to hear from anyone in Nanjing who knows anything about them. They're a university but I keep getting the vibe that they're like a business college. No evidence of that yet, but... |

From what I understand XiaoZhuang is not a fully certified university. It was a college that upgraded to university status but I have been told they don't offer honour degree courses. However it is a famous institution at its level. |
