Do any foreigners in Thailand own and teach at their own school? Would it be difficult to do? What if you are married to a Thai, would that make it easier?
Thanks in advance |

Generally you need a Thai partner to help you, and I think they need some kind of educational qualification. Have you been to the MoE website as you may well be able to find out what's required from there?
I know a few people that have managed to do it, and they said it's not too difficult (it's making a profit that's hard!). |

I invest with some friends to open language school now. We all are Thai, and it's not really easy to run school. First, you gotto get a good quality and reliable English teacher. Second, you should hv a lot of money to advertise your school. Third, you hv to always do research on your competitors in the market, high competition nowadays. It is fine if you gonna teach by yourself. That will help you in saving cost. Anyway, you need to have a school manager to manage and make school run. I suggest you to take some role in recruiting and arranging course cos you have experience in teaching and may have friends who would like to get teaching job too. They may be reliable. Then, your Thai parner can take part in marketing and sales. This will be a balance for running this business.
Good Luck to you! |
