Follow this link to story in the New York Times:
http://nytimes.com/2004/08/24/business/worldbusiness/24orchid.html?hp
I found it interesting because it cites an increase in the number of prospective jobs in Tainan County--which is where I worked for over a year. Tainan County is also where the current Taiwanese President is from, as well as the film director Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
It looks like a good destination. If anyone has questions, feel free to respond. |

I'd paste the story, but it's rather long. Three pages, I think. If you want to read it at nytimes.com, the registration is free. Totally free, no committment. The story basically eludes to the fact that many more Taiwanese jobs will be created in the Tainan area. More Taiwanese jobs mean more money. More money means an increased opportunity for teachers to earn. That was all I was trying to say--though the story, in itself, is interesting.
And I wouldn't call Tainan ugly. It looks like all the rest of the cities, but on a smaller scale. I enjoyed my times there. |
