I am considering going to Taiwan to teach ESL. My Qubecoise GF would like to come along and is also interested in teaching. She is a native French speaker, however. Does anyone have any information about teaching French as a Second Language in Taiwan? |

I have a Taiwanese friend whose husband is French. A while back they lived in Taiwan for a number of years and she said it wasn't that easy to find work teaching French in Taiwan. |

She'll have no problem getting a job teaching English. She has a passport from one of the countries recognized as English speaking by the Taiwanese government; if she also has a degree, that's all that is legally required.
True, she's not a native speaker of English, but from what I've seen, few buxiban bosses will be good enough at English to realize this, and the parents won't be able to tell either. |
