One school offered me this :

"You will get around Can $ 5-600 a month. One months will have 80-100 hours a month. If is more than enough to live in Thailand because the new gradute from the university will earn bht. 5,000 a month"

I this teh Thai norm? or am I being taking for a ride?

Saddle up for a ride. That many hours and that low of pay...Where is the school in question? The amount quoted is about 19000 baht.
Nope, don't accept. You can do better.

Many schools in Thailand still seem to be existing in some sort of fantasyland/alternative universe where they actually seem to believe their own BS about how 20 or 30,000 baht is a lot of money, everything is so cheap and Thai teachers make next to nothing and blah, blah, blah, blah, we're located only 4 hours from the beach and there are no foreigners in our dumpy town, etc, etc. so you can have a genuine exotic cultural experience.

This might be mildly interesting if you have no need for money, but at the end of the day, who cares?

Anyway, 19,000 baht per month is certainly not the norm regardless of the number of hours. You need to make about twice that amount.
