In fact, this college crops up here quite often; don't know why. High teacher turnover? I only happen to know where it is located; it is near the old airport and next to beautiful Baiyun mountain.
In the same area are several other universities and training centres. As a location it is not too far out of town though it's not a touristy place.
When I visited this school's website I thought itis describing itself in exactly the same terms as any other public school does - thus I would expect nothing special. They may be new to the TEFL scene in terms of hiring expat teachers.

Three cheers for Baiyun College.
Great place, PM me with your questions.
It doesn't really have a high turnover but it comes up a lot because they always want more teachers as they are growing quite rapidly.

as for three cheers for the college...I just hope you were being sarcastic.....

soooooo, is it near the new airport or the old airport.
old airport is in town.
new airport is way out of town.
(tip: when you fly in to GZ - beat off the taxi touts and grab a bus into town. safer and faster. or have your univer. pick you up. most schools have vans and drivers.)
location, location, location - can be everything.
as well as a decent flat?

same school. across from each other. sperated by an expressway. went out to visit and meet the FAO (great English) and the vice dean of the English institute (not good English). campus is small and new. classrooms with the lock down desks and benches. oral English taught to 50 - 60 students for 2 periods a week.
one of the above posters was right. horrid location. only public transport is a bus to the main train station. way, way out of town. the new airport is 30 minutes away. never saw a taxi, a few motorcycle taxis.
the nearby village is small and dirty but has an early morning market.
now, the really bad????? the foreign teacher flats are really bad. if this is your first China experience you may not be shocked but I was really shocked by the conditions. this is one step above a cave.
and this is the reason there is a large foreign turnover. after one year of being in the middle of nowhere and your home is this nasty little cave - yes, you run away. o, yes, and the little caves are above the student canteen. so much for sleeping past 5am.
what to say? the pay is okay. 6,000 rmb for 18 hours, travel money each semester, airfare, trips into the city every week, etc. , , this is the reason many "old China" hands say: "visit the school before you commit to anything." it is worth the time and the money.
live and learn!
