|
|
This semester I am going to be teaching an adult course on language and culture. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for a suitable textbook for such a course, and/or ideas for class discussion topics.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Dear Englishmaster,
When you say 'culture' do you mean world culture or only American (or British) culture? As for choosing a book, it really depends on the English level of your students. I would imagine that culture is easily taught indirectly. That is, you may not find a book with 'culture' in the title...but lots of conversation books and magazines highlight American culture.
Let us know more about the number of students in class, their level of fluency and the actual goals/plan for the course.
Sincerely,
Taylor |
