|

I am a new ALT in Chiba city area wondering where I can catch some NFL football, specifically Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. I am assuming the best route is to go with some sports bar, cause I have heard it is about impossible to find anything on Satellite or Cable tv here. (niether of which I have anyway.. thought if I thought it would make a difference...)
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Well the sports bars have satellite/cable tv so they're no better than a home dish. Skyperfect used to have a package with a lot of live games but now we can only get 1-2 live a week on Gaora(skyperfect, J-Com), pluse 3-4 replayed throughout the week. Also I just subscribed to channel 309 on skyperfect(G+), which also airs NFL but so far only 2003 playoffs. Will let you know more later.
Cheers,

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the specifics (price, procedure to get the service) for getting that? I have asked around a few times but have not been able to get very concrete answers.
I have seen some places in Roppongi and Shibuya that advertise showing some games, but does anyone know of someplace closer to Chiba to catch some NFL? |

I have never lived in Chiba but in Tokyo, I used to have cable, and my boyfriend at the time used to watch the NFL on GOARA. Cable is not that much. |

If you do end up getting cable, this site has a schedule for all games broadcasted in Japan on the various cable channels, Gaora, G+, NHK BS1... It's in Japanese, but you can get by with just katakana.

Also, the Tokyo Sports Cafe in Roppongi shows NFL games. They have ads every week in Metropolis--an English magazine/website about Tokyo.

Hope this helps.

If you TV can change language, you can watch football game in English on Gaora. |

Hey guys:
I get skyperfect TV and channel 302 has 5 NFL games a week...costs an extra 900 yen/month above and beyone basic (which is 3000 yen)...some of the games suck though (this week they have the Chargers and Texans on or something like that)...only real game is the Packers/Panthers on Wednesday night...can't wait
