Don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but has anyone had any dealing or info on Heng Feng Foreign Languages School or can point me in the right direction? I did a net search but only came up with job advertisements from other ESL sites.

Thank you for your time

Heng Feng Foreign Languages School

Alright here is the skinny, I worked at the school, and it is well known in Harbin City as one of the worse schools in the city. The only school that ranks below it is Fraser Valley.

The basic and Primary problem with Heng Feng is the owner doesn't know how to run a business. She is currently on the skids and is going bankrupt.

Give or take this is it....

*They won't get you a work Visa... they claim they can't...which is a lie but the owner really doesn't care.

*They never pay you the correct amount for your overtime ever...or for your basic salary. Every payday is a battle royal to the end in order to get the money they owe in your salary.

*Side note on the salary...it isn't a salary you are paid, you are paid essentailly per hour...your pay is calculated with some bizzare formula that doesn't make sense.

*Teachers are paid 46 rmb an hour... do the math, that sucks.

*The past 3 teachers hired she has refused to pay and have since been deported or moved onto other schools.

There are much better schools in Harbin. It is a wonderful city...I would avoid this school with my life.

Heng Feng is the most unfortunate acquaintance I have made in the 24 years I've been alive. And that is to say that being stung by 26 bees was a more enjoyable experience than working there.

I cannot personally vouch for all that YearOfTheDog has written, but I am honestly not surprised at all to hear all the complaints about the school. I worked at this school during the winter of 2004-5. It is a sad place, because most of the people there are good--excluding the headmaster, Madam Zhang, who is without a doubt one of the coldest and most uncaring people I have ever met. And so it does not surprise me that so many teachers are posting negatively about Heng Feng. To prevent this from appearing to be a mere rant, I have provided full testimonies to the reasons I advise against Heng Feng elsewhere on this website (search my name as author and please read all of the other conclusive bits by like minded colleagues. I have yet to read one positive entry about the school.) I furthermore am not going to redundantly repost here. But in the event that this posting is the only warning you read, please heed the many warnings from so many x-teachers of Heng Feng! And happy traveling, wherever you are...
