So how about it. I've been working abroad for about six years now without taking out any insurance but now I feel that it might be a good idea after all.

Any feedback on policies to cover you for health care / accidents and some personal belongings would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

I never took travel insurance until last year. I now have a policy with HSBC in Hong Kong. Oddly, I also never needed it until last year. I broke my wrist Xmas day in Thailand and although I had to pay up front, HSBC was very quick about getting me my money back once I filled my claim form upon my return. I have not filed for anything else, but their coverage seems fairly good and I have had no troubles dealing with them.

I have medical insurance with MLC in HK as well and so far, so good.
