Book beside the bed: Actually, it is books beside the bed (I am a prolific reader and peruse according to mood): 'Crime and punishment', Fyodor Dostoyevsky, 'The voyage of the Beagle', Charles Darwin, 'In cold blood', Truman Capote, 'Manufacturing consent: the political economy of the mass media', Edward Herman & Noam Chomsky, and 'Good-bye to all that', Robert Graves.
On the TV: The office (TVB Pearl)
What's in the glass: Guinness (half empty which is not the same as half full).
On my feet: (Vegetarian) shower slippers.
On my skin: Some light hair.
On the stereo: New Morning, Bob Dylan, Infidels, Bob Dylan, We're only in it for the money, The Mothers of Invention, and Broadway the Hardway, Frank Zappa, (multiple (stack) CD player).
The weather outside: 29 degrees, 78% relative humidity; nice and cool.
What I plan to teach tomorrow: Nothing; it is Saturday tomorrow, thus no work (in the sense of paid employment) till Monday! |

Ludwig, I'm very impressed by both your book and music lists. I am a little concerned about your vegetarian slippers though. Have they ever tried to eat a good steak, or was there vegetarian ways forced upon them?
As for me,
Books: I just finished Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons". I wouldn't say it is high art but it was extremely clever and a whole lotta fun to read. Next I'll give "The Da Vinci Code" a read.
TV: I don't watch much.
Feet: socks
Skin: T-shirt and shorts, or course I'm wearing boxers too, but they're hidden.
Stereo: Nothing of late
Weather: Warm and sunny with a slight breeze
Tomorrow: I'm off, but when I return to work I'll be talking about expressing weekend plans and describing where you live. |

Book beside the bed: Strip Tease by Carl Hiaasen
On the TV: When I am bored enough to watch it, CCTV 9 (unfortunately)
What's in the glass: Big bottle of the 2 yuan local beer
On my feet: Running shoes and socks (why are they still on?)
On my skin: Khahi shorts, green "Angkor Wat" t-shirt
On the stereo: "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MGs (listening to random mp3s right now)
The weather outside: Humid, maybe 75-80 degrees F
What I plan to teach tomorrow: Not a damn thing...remember thy sabbath and keep it holy (or, in my case, screw the sabbath, be lazy, and sleep in until noon)
Cheers,
Kirk |

Anything he has written is worthy of a read- unfortunately they f'ed up the film. I've had a crush on Hiaasen for years- damn, he has the pulse of Florida, and I have lived there most of my life. |

I think I replied to this a long time ago, but the answers have changed.
book: at school--Katharine Graham's autobiography; at home--Hillary Clinton's autobiography
tv--nothing now, but I just rented "Hedwig and the Angry" (something-er-other)
stereo--right now, The Cure's Disintegration; just before that, The The's Burning Blue Soul
on my feet--worn-out vegan slippers (I know because I forced my wacky ideology down their innocent little man-made throats!)
on my skin--gym shorts and a tank top
in my glass--after a weekend of girlie drinks, it's time to go back to good ol' rose petal tea
the weather--kinda overcast, probably about 20ish degrees, humid
teaching tomorrow--mostly independent study for my writing class, except for me blabbing for a few minutes about plagiarism/paraphrasing/citing; student presentations and a quiz in my TOEFL class; guessing vocabulary from context in my reading class (featuring an activity using Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" that I found right here on dave's, in the "ideas cookbook" section)

Sure they're vegan when you're around, but how do you know they don't get out the veal chops the minute you leave for work in the morning? |
