I'm with Roger on this one. It would be beneficial if we could all adopt a standardized term for the Residence Permit foreigners require to remain in China for more than just a few months.
Confusion reigns supreme in this area, especially for newcomers, since not all Foreigners are issued a Residence Permit with an actual "green book" or green cover.
Depending on location in China, and whether this is the first time or subsequent time the Residence Permit is being issued, all it may be is a piece of Paper with the words "Temporary Residence Permit" and a red official stamp stapled into your pasport. The paper is a sort of pale green, but it is not a "Green Book". |
