Anyone else see this in the news?
I wonder how the Taiwanese are going to play this one out.
Sir Elton John was mobbed by a pile of photographers and reporters so he told them that they were all a bunch of "rude, vile, pigs!"
One photographer said "Why don't you leave Taiwan then?"
Elton's reply?
"We'd love to leave Taiwan if it's full of pigs like you!" |

Airport can't be all that safe if the government and airport management allow people to sit and wait for people within 'secure' areas.

 CKS airport can't be all that safe as I've never had my bag looked through or scanned at customs which has happened at a number of other international airports. I find this a little worrying personally. |

Even though I think Elton is past his prime and tend to be a tad miserable now, after all of his bankruptcy court appearances and paying off old boyfriends, ya gotta feel for the guy.
How would you feel to have a dozen or so Asian journalists/photographers totally block your way after clearing customs? Whenever I land at ANY airport I just wanna get out!
That being said, EJ is a performer and he should expect some sort of commotion when the rocket man touches down. |

They are allowed into secure areas because the airport police are on the take the same as most other law enforcement officers on Taiwan.
CKS airport is one of the few airports in the world that repeatedly checks tickets and passports inside the secure terminal simply because anybody with a little cash or quanxi can walk onto an airplane at the CKS airport in Taipei.
In my opinion Sir Elton John was mistaken. It is not the reporters that are vile pigs. They were just doing there jobs. The vile pigs are the ones that let anyone walk into the secure terminal of CKS international Airport in Taipei and harass some of the most widely respected entertainers on the planet.

Of course like most professionals in any field, Elton John won't be staying long or coming back.

I was never particularly taken with old Elton, but now i plan to buy an album of his and i've had his tunes running through my head constantly for the past few days. A beautiful moment in music history.  |
