Just a further note on the medical.
As has been already stated, it has to be done in Taiwan. It does check for diseases and drugs but it may or may not test for all. Heroin and cocaine are tested but marijuana may not be. Still, better safe than sorry.

I would wait until you get a job to do the test, degree transcription and other paperwork. It'll only take you a few days to find work anyway and someone there will help sort all this out with you. If you have a 60 day visa this should be plenty of time.
