I will be in Taiwan in late October.
Any information on the following would be greatly appreciated:
Kojen or Asia recruiters in Taipei?
Andrews english school on He Ping East Rd?
Best place(s) to mingle with other ESL teachers in Taipei?
Thank you for your time...Tiger9 |

I find most other ESL teachers avoid each other as if there is some kind of informal stigma of being seen with many Westerners. However, if you have a colleague or live near a foreigner then maybe you could become friends. I don't think there is anything wrong when two foreigners are seen together. Good luck! |

I think if you do a search for one of those names you'll come up with lots of info, some good, some not so good.
Forget about the recruiter. I think pretty much everyone here accepts that recruiters are the worst option, not because they are evil (well some are) but because they are unknown quantities. There is little info about individual recruiters. You are walking in blind.
At least with the chain schools, there is plenty of searcheable info here. You may not like everything said, but at least you know what you're getting into. |

Appreciate the info... Not certain what options would be available to me this time of year. Thought of a recruiter as a last resort.
I pulled up plenty of info on some chain schools. Any inside information would be welcome.... |

Kojen take on staff all year. With the volume of teachers they have there are people coming and going all year |
