It's not that I "like" John Kerry, rather that he's the most electable candidate who is not George Bush.

Ok...so he isn't on the list, but my Write in Vote is for.....Al Sharpton...
The man has great hair.
But seriously, if I could vote in the US election it would be for George Bush...his policies are disastrous domestically, but he sure is making it easy for the Chinese to flood the US with cheap imports. As long as that continues, I have a job teaching in China. |

As usual, self-interest is the be-all and end-all on this forum.
I will be working against Bush during this month--resigned my job in Mexico to give presentatins in the US, specifically about US interventionism in Latin America.
If I am able to register to vote I will vote for Tweedledee--er, Kerry--only because he isn't Bush. |

Kia ora,
I'm ticking the box next to John Kerry's name.
Why? Because Kerry isn't a nasty little whinger like GW Bush..."I work hard...it's hard work..." |

Does it really matter? Will Kerry be able to restore world peace and harmony? Will he be able to undo the mess caused by the Bush Administration? Will US policy be guided by something other than oil?
The answers to the above are No, probably not. There will still kidnappings in Iraq, there will still be pointless killings in KSA, there will be still be massacres in sudan, there will still be.... need I go on. Anyone with a grudge will still blame the US. Bush or Kerry, it won't make that much a difference to the rest of the world. |

According to C-SPAN-- in the only poll that counts ( a state by state poll):
GW 293 electorial votes
Kerry 200 electorial votes
And Bozo the clown goes back to Bawstun. |

I sent my ballot in a couple of weeks ago with a tick mark next to Kerry. I voted for Nader last time (because he was the Green candidate, not because I liked him, which I really don't), and would go with the Greens again this time if things weren't so dire. I decided that my principles and beliefs needed to take a back seat to help get the current regime booted out.

I tick John Kerry, not just because he isn't Bush, but that he's come up with some good ideas of his own to fight terror. I like his proposal, for example, of bilateral talks with North Korea as well as dealing with the loose nukes issue in Russia. As for Iraq, he was right in that it was a sideline on the war on terror. Saddam didn't mastermind 9/11, it was al-qaida! So I like Kerry's proposal of internationally FOCUSED efforts on breaking up that terrorist cell, and also hunting down Bin Laden.
In short, Kerry has better plans on how to deal with terrorism and foreign policy. Ironically, these are the issues that are supposed to be Bush's turf!
However, the damage done in Iraq was substantial and it's going to be a long and difficult road to rebuild the place. Probably won't happen in one presidential term, but I'm confident that Kerry will get things moving in the right direction. It's a chance to turn around from all the pain and suffering, and start fresh, basically.

in short, john kerry will ban outright gay marriages. now im not gay but what the *beep*? shouldnt ppl be allowed to marry whoever the hell they want?
its such a very sad state the worlds in that pressure groups (such as religions, in this case) run the largest countries and now thats happened it'll never change.
i dont know much about them, but id have to vote for kerry. just cos its not bush, but man, if george was first against the wall, kerry would be second.
"better git the twelve boar, momma. 'dis 'eres a two-barreller, uh huh."
they should hold the elections in a school playground, just to reflect the intellectual level of the whole thing.
Oh, from England with love |

I choose to exercise my right to privacy.
I will say this much: watching CCTV 9, all I ever see are stories about business and bombs, bombs and business. I have little failth that any of these candidates will make any substantial progress in the enlightened development of human society, but only in the service of the same old human Ego, which I submit is THE greatest threat facing this planet. Well, the problem is all of the candidates are only human. |
