Too much garbage here and not sure what to do with it all. I sometimes keep it in my bag, collect worms. Smells, can't reach in. Got some flies zigzagging my nose, wanting to land. Have a heap of chopsticks and plastic, paper and used stuff. WOnder what to do with.
Could dump it at home but the can's only about the size of a quart. WOuld think the parks had some big ones, but thought twice about the penchant toi dump here, just like in KOrea. JUst wonder, why can't streets and restuarants provide for us, since we're using their services?
Hate to sound like a complainer, but it's a hassle. Hate to go home with garbage in my pockets, in my bags. Hate to pollute, too. Like to be an environmentalist. BUt here it makes it difficult to do your part, almost like you're at fault. Makes me think about those receipts they always give you at 7-eleven and the othe marts. I sometimes say "xie, xie, bu ke xie," only to have the *beep* rip them up like they knew it was their problem in the first place, or like I was nothing but garbage, kind of like it's a racist thing here.
Walked down the streets in Korea too, and smelled the burning plastic, glass. Couldn'g stand the ceapos doing this to us in the morning. Here you smell it, but it's not as strong. What, do they want me to pollute? BE a slob?!
THe wind blew my bag away the other day. IT went straight towards some fat CHinese guy's bench, he cringing. MAN, no such thing as community spirit here in CHIna. NOthing but the runs and barf. |

Reminds me of London. There aren't any bins anywhere near the underground.
Why don't you just use the bins provided in 7eleven? |

You know, I would. BUt it's only for heir so-called gargage, which makes you wonder, since they tuck it way in the back and out of sight, hardly providing even enough space to suck down a dog or two. |

I saw a big metal bin located way down at the end of the street. Walked down there an and tossed out my bag. No one around, not even a policeman. Felt blessed, smokey bear all over, the bag stuffed with paper receipts and plastic.
Reminds me of Korea and the kids that threw borken glass bottles into the swimming hole. But I remember hearing how Taiwan used to be 20 years ago, and how Korea is now. They're trying to clean up the Danshui River here for cruise boats at Fisherman's Wharf. In Japan they just implement the hobby 'Beachcombing' and open museums to welcome the public. Of course the fish need that garbage and can often be seen hiding under islands of trash. IT's a lot like the DesPlaines River and what I used to see. But on the streets, they all keep their garbage cans locked. IT makes you wonder if Taiwan really has something going here or not. |

I started hanging on to my receipts. Won $2200 last month. First time I've claimed a prize although I have won $200 before. Sunday the garbage collector opened my garbage bag and gave all my recyclables back to me because it wasn't a recycling day. |
