anyone have any experience or comments in dealing with kojen through footprints? does footprints have dealings with one particular school or do they answer to whichever kojen chain school has availabilites for teachers? thanks!

Expecting several hours a week of unpaid prep time (that has to be conducted at the school) was the major reason I turned down a job offer from them. I always found it easier to do that at home in the evening or the morning.

True, no one should go through an agent in Taiwan - just contact the school directly. But, in this case, it'd be best not to contact the school at all. Kojen still has a robust kids department but the adult department has been mismanaged almost out of existence. Who cares, right? As long as you get classes and get paid? Well, Kojen's most pressing problem is the string of idiotic and dark-hearted directors, and especially managers, it seems to employ and then not monitor. This can lead to your rights being severely compromised and your stress level to suddenly go through the roof. They're not everywhere, but unfortunately, your chances of not getting an evil foreign director or a rotten local manager is only about 30% as far as I can tell. One school where you'll definitely find yourself in the 70% range is the school 4 Kungkuan branch (evil director in question - {edit} 'say goodbye to your human dignity you teacher scum' {edit}. Another one is school 5. Zero people skills and perhaps a vitamin deficiency charcacterise the stooped, ashen, disparaging, humourless, bitter director there. Until the upper management applies some system of accountability to it's middle managers, your chances of having a hellish experience at Kojen Taiwan are pretty high. Look somewhere else.
