Hey everyone,
I have just completed my TESOL certificate, and am leaving for H.C.M.C. just after New years '05. I plan to explore the country a bit, find a place that is right for me, and then look for a job in that area. I've heard mixed things about housing in Vietnam. How much do you have to dish out for a no frills small bungalow, or single bedroom appartment in Saigon? What about other areas further north?
Finally, what is the visa situation like for working in Vietnam for about 6 months? I would greatly appreciate any advice on this fascinating country!

A room with cable Tv, hot water, air con should cost you less than $200/month. Maybe $150 is enough. It might be good to have a Vietnamese friend help you.

You can buy a 6 month business visa (single or multiple) for $120 (possibly less some places), no problem on the visa thing.
