|

I will be coming to HCMC shortly on a six month business visa. I understand the extension process from reading through other people comments, but I still have a question that I was hoping that someone might have an answer for.
The problem is that I only have one page, and a couple of halves left in my passport which is still good for another two years. What do they put in your passport to extend your business visa? Thanks in advance for any clarification you might be able to provide on this issue. |

You need to get more pages added to your passport. Contact your embassy. |

Thanks for the advice, but I am still curious about what they put in your passport for the business visa extension. |

Hey, there!
I've read all the stuff posted about the positives and negatives in this forum. Basically, I'm hunting around for another job in SE Asia. Done the Indonesia thing already - and loved it - but would appreciate a heads-up regarding quality of life in general in Vietnam. + do's & don'ts, etc. What exactly does Vietnam have to offer that Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia don't?
All comments welcome!
Cheers.

I contacted my embassy in Vietnam and they no longer add pages to passports because of security concerns. I phoned a couple of travel agents about extending my six month muliple entry business visa and got different answers. One told me that they put a new visa paper in my passport and another place told me that they just stamp the extension onto my old visa to extend it. Does anyone have a recent experience extending a business visa to help me clarrify the process? |

I don't know how you contacted the embassy, but they will add extra visa papers to your passport. In fact, they must if you have no space left in your visa. I have been to that very embassy to that very thing. I think you should try again. |

Thanks for the info. How long ago did you get pages added? I'll try again, but can you explain the extension stamp issue? |

dump your passport and pick up a new one. travelling to se asia with only one clean page left is plain silly. apart from the fact that both cambodian and loas visas take up a whole page and you'll probably want to go there sometime, the vietnamese love filling up your passport with shitty little stamps. they'll take up half a page just to inform you that apparently your 100 dollar visa costs only 25 - it's a communist country and they like their beaurocracy and their stamps.
to answer your question simply, yest they will put another full page visa in for your next six months. |
