No sometimes we attack newbies too much, sometimes we are puffed up about how great we are (after all the school tells us that when ever they want to re-hire us. And most newbies ask good questions. but...sometimes...
I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE, AND NO DEGREE. CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A GOOD JOB? (Why would I RECCOMEND YOU then? McDonald's is always hiring)
WHERE ARE THE BEST PAYING JOBS? Not-teaching!
WHERE ARE THE WOMEN THE EASIEST? (They don't come right out and say it, but it is pretty obvious)
WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO FIND A JOB SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORK MUCH? Urrgh!!
HI, I DON'T KNOW WHERE I WANT TO WORK, ASIA EUROPE, SOUTH AMERICA. WHAT IS A GOOD PLACE? (If you don't have any idea what you want, how can we help you?) |

"I want to go somewhere cool. Where should I go ?"
"How do I get a visa ?"
"Is it dangerous abroad ? Can you drink the water ?" |

Ah yes.Very true,scot and Arioch.My contributions:
"So you have been teaching overseas for twelve years and I just started a month ago.So I suppose you think you know more about this business than I do?"(Wellll...maybe I do)
"If you don't like teaching here, why don't you just LEAVE?"(i.e.,since you don't agree with my opinions...I think you should leave the country immediately) Often(but not always )a query by newbies who, after arriving in a locale, think they have it all scoped out after three weeks.
"I hear that broad is cool. How do I get there?"(Alright,I sort of swiped that one from one of the other posts). |

Abroad is easy. Just go to the airport and ask for a ticket. Better not forget your passport.
"You mean I have all the hassle of getting a passport ! That's not fair. There must be some way I can do it without a passport ! "

"How much is that in real money?" always makes me smile. I just love the different responses that are forthcoming from ..Agents, Employers and other teachers. |

In addition to those already posted, I'm partial to, "How do I get an EU passport?" As if it were something you pick up at a convenience store with a carton of cigarettes and a six-pack of cheap beer.
Another one that makes me smile: "How dangerous is it to work illegally?" |
