|
|
Currently I have 2 part time positions at a JHS and a university. I teach 3 days at the JHS and 2 at the uni. The JHS have offered me a full time position for next year, but I am wondering what to do.
The thing is at the mo I make 4.3million a year but do nothing other than teach. No meetings or BS of any sort. Can anyone who has worked at a government school tell me what the salary for a full time position is?
I now teach 12 JHS and 7 uni classes. Is it better to go full time?
Any advice welcome. |

If they have offered you a position, won't they tell you the salary? Salaries could vary too, so by asking us, this won't help you find out your salary. |

My friend works at JH in Osaka through the board. Salary is 4.1 million I think. Between 12 and 15 classes a week, team teaching. |

Gordon, well today they just casually asked me if I was interested. I was too British, in that I said, "um maybe" but all the while thinking, $$$$$. The thing is, am I mad to give up part time uni work?
I also had the notion that all the government schools paid on the same scale. |

I don't think if the pay is the same. I know someone who makes 6.8 million including benefits and bonuses and that near Osaka. He also has a Masters and is almost 50 years old.
If the p/t uni work may lead to f/t, then maybe stick with that. Perks can be so good at unis. Tough choice. I know what you mean about not wanting to ask, maybe you should casually ask about the salary too. |
